[Morphometry of endocrine organs. 2. Karyometry of dog and swine thyroid glands following administration of TURISYNCHRON and SUISYNCHRON]
- Arch Exp Veterinarmed. 1974;28(5):725-30.
Administration of TURISYNCHRON (metallibure) to dogs at 1 mg/kg/day for six months did not affect the histological structure of the thyroid, but the volume of nuclei of thyroid epithelial cells was reduced by one-third. In pigs given 100 mg/animal daily for 100 days, this nuclear contraction amounted to only 11%. Metallibure zinc complex (TURISYNCHRON-Z, SUISYNCHRON) given at 1 and 10 mg/kg/day for six months had a similar action on the thyroid.
