RO8191 shows antiviral activity against both HCV and EMCV with an IC50 of 200 nM for HCV replicon . RO8191 is a cccDNA modulator (CDM) through interferon-like activity and has anti-HBV activity [2].

IFNAR2 is a type I membrane protein that forms one of the two chains of a receptor for interferons alpha and beta. IFN-α Receptor Recognition Peptide 1 binds to IFNAR2, enhances the binding capacity of IFN-α receptor, and slightly increases the IFN-α-induced growth inhibitory activity. IFN-α Receptor Recognition Peptide 1 inhibits IFN-α-induced STAT1 phosphorylation and STAT-DNA binding by blocking the activation of IFNAR by IFN-α.
