Trypsin, porcine pancreas (Cell culture grade) is a serine protease that hydrolyzes proteins at the carboxyl side of lysine or arginine residues. Trypsin, porcine pancreas (Cell culture grade) exhibits excellent protein digestibility for α-lactalbumin and β-casein. Trypsin, porcine pancreas (Cell culture grade) removes cellular components while preserving extracellular matrix structures to achieve uniform decellularization of porcine pancreas^[1][2][3].

Porcine pancreas (cell culture grade) efficiently hydrolyzes approximately 78% of the cleavage sites in α-lactalbumin, whereas bovine and human trypsins efficiently hydrolyze only approximately 47% and 53% of the sites, respectively^[1].
Porcine pancreas (cell culture grade) does not impair bovine sperm motility, in vitro fertilization, or embryonic development to the morula/blastocyst stage, and can support semen processing for bovine in vitro embryo production^[2].
Porcine pancreas (cell culture grade) plays a critical role in the decellularization process. Its proteolytic activity helps lyse and remove cellular components, and it synergizes with the detergent Triton X-100 to ultimately achieve efficient and uniform decellularization of the pancreas from large animals (pigs), while successfully preserving the native ECM structure and components that are essential for tissue engineering^[3].
