Description

4-Chlorodiphenyl ether (4-CDE) is an estrogen-mimicking active compound. 4-Chlorodiphenyl ether maintains the survival of endometriotic cysts and exhibits estrogenic activity associated with the growth of endometriotic implants. 4-Chlorodiphenyl ether can be used in research related to endometriosis[1].

In Vivo

4-Chlorodiphenyl ether (10-150 mg/kg/day; subcutaneous injection; daily administration for 28 consecutive days) dose-dependently increases the survival rate of endometriotic cysts in ovariectomized B6C3F1 mice. The cyst survival rate reaches 60% in the 150 mg/kg/day group, which is significantly higher than that in the vehicle control group. In addition, the highest dose alters the activity of hepatic microsomal enzymes[1].
4-Chlorodiphenyl ether (68 nmol/kg; intravenous injection; single administration) is rapidly cleared from the blood of rays, mainly accumulates in the liver with slow elimination, and has a total body clearance rate of 4.05 mL·min−1·kg−1[2].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Animal Model: B6C3F1 (female, adult, 22-27 g, surgically induced endometriosis)[1]
Dosage: 10 mg/kg/day; 75 mg/kg/day; 150 mg/kg/day
Administration: s.c.; daily; 28 days
Result: Achieved 28% endometriotic cyst survival rate; showed no significant difference in cyst diameter compared to vehicle control; caused no significant alteration to hepatic BROD, MROD, EROD, or PROD enzyme activities relative to vehicle control.
Achieved 36% endometriotic cyst survival rate; showed no significant difference in cyst diameter compared to vehicle control; caused no significant alteration to hepatic BROD, MROD, EROD, or PROD enzyme activities relative to vehicle control.
Achieved 60% endometriotic cyst survival rate (significantly higher than vehicle control's 8%); showed no significant difference in cyst diameter compared to vehicle control; Significantly elevated hepatic BROD enzyme activity and significantly suppressed hepatic MROD enzyme activity relative to vehicle control, estrone-treated group, and 10/75 mg/kg/day 4-CDE groups; Resulted in hepatic EROD enzyme activity significantly lower than in the estrone-treated group; caused no significant alteration to hepatic PROD enzyme activity relative to vehicle control.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
