5-Bromo-L-tryptophan
Based on 1 publication(s) in Google Scholar
5-Bromo-L-tryptophan is a substrate of PLP-dependent enzyme AetE, as well as an indole alkaloid and Amino acid derivative. 5-Bromo-L-tryptophan can be isolated from Semenospongia sp. 5-Bromo-L-tryptophan can be converted into 5-bromoindole (HY-30236) via AetE-mediated catalysis. 5-Bromo-L-tryptophan is applicable to colon cancer research.

Biological Activity
5-Bromo-L-tryptophan is converted to 5-bromoindole (HY-30236) by purified PLP-dependent tryptophanase AetE[1].
5-Bromo-L-tryptophan (72 h) shows no cytotoxic activity against HCT-116 p53+/+ and HCT-116 p53-/- human colon carcinoma cells up to 177 μM, with an IC50 >177 μM in both cell lines[2].
MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.
