Biological Activity
5-Epikarelinine (compound 2) is a novel phenanthroindolizidine-type heterosteroidal alkaloid with trans-fused A/B rings and a 15α-hydroxy substitution[2].
5-Epikarelinine does not undergo H5 isomerization under the acid-base conditions used for alkaloid extraction[2].
