Protocol
Rats[1]
Sixteen female Wistar rats are divided into two groups (control group, n=8, Trecadrine group, n=8) housed in cages; nutritionally balanced pellets and water are freely available. Rats from the Trecadrine group are orally dosed by gavage with Trecadrine (1 mg/kg per day) for 35 days, while rats from the control group receive a placebo (NaCl 0.9%). After this period, rats are killed by decapitation, and basal determinations are performed in this group, concerning absorptive and digestive processes[1].
