Description

ADP-Hep (ADP-heptose) is a precursor for lipopolysaccharide assembly in Gram-negative bacteria. ADP-Hep is used in studies of Escherichia coli infection[1].

In Vitro

ADP-Hep is specifically synthesized by purified E. coli HldE via ATP activation of D-β-D-heptose-1-phosphate, and shows no activity against D-α-D-heptose-1-phosphate[1].
