Description

Antibacterial agent 313 (Compound 20) is a broad-spectrum antibacterial agent. Antibacterial agent 313 can be used for research of bacterial infection[1].

In Vitro

Antibacterial agent 313 (Compound 20) has a potent inhibitory effect on Gram-positive bacteria with a MIC of 0.125 μg/mL for Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 29213 and MIC values of 0.125-0.5 μg/mL for multi-drug resistant clinical isolates such as MRSA and VRSA[1].
Antibacterial agent 313 also has inhibitory effects on some Gram-negative bacteria (such as Escherichia coli ATCC 25922) with a MIC of 3.03 μg/mL[1].
Antibacterial agent 313 has low cytotoxicity against CHO-K1 cells with an IC50 of 9 μg/mL[1].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
