Apoptotic agent-5 is an apoptosis inducer that releases large amounts of nitric oxide to induce cell apoptosis. Apoptotic agent-5 can be used in research related to triple-negative breast cancer[1].

In Vitro

Apoptotic agent-5 (0.014-2.044 μM; 48 h) potently inhibits the proliferation of MDA-MB-231, MCF-7, BGC-823, and A549 cells, with the highest potency against MDA-MB-231 cells (IC50 = 0.014 μM), and exhibits high selectivity for MDA-MB-231 cells over normal MCF-10A cells (SI = 129.57)[1].
Apoptotic agent-5 (25 μM; 2 h) releases high levels of intracellular NO in MDA-MB-231 cells, supporting its anti-proliferative mechanism of action[1].
Apoptotic agent-5 (7-28 nM) induces concentration-dependent apoptosis in MDA-MB-231 cells, with significant increases in both early and late apoptotic cell populations observed at concentrations of 7, 14, and 28 nM[1].
