Ascr#12 (Asc-C6) is an ascaroside derivative that exhibits extremely low activity in inducing the dauer (dormant larval) stage. Ascr#12 enhances the reproductive capacity of the invasive pine wood nematode.

Biological Activity
asc-C6 (220-6000 nM) exhibits negligible dauer-inducing activity in Caenorhabditis elegans[1].
Synthetic asc-C6 (3 aM-3 µM; 72 h) increases fecundity of the invasive Bursaphelenchus xylophilus CN1 isolate, but has no significant effect on the US1 isolate[2].
