Bestim (γ-Glu-Trp) is a dipeptide, which exhibits high affinity to murine peritoneal macrophages, thymocytes, and plasma membranes isolated from these cells, with K_ds of 3.1, 2.1, 18.6 and 16.7 nM, respectively. Bestim inhibits adenylate cyclase in the membranes of murine macrophages and thymocytes. Bestim exhibits immunomodulatory efficacy.
