BIM187
BIM187 is a Bombesin Receptor agonist that induces satiety. BIM187 significantly reduces short-term food intake in rats, but does not alter the total 6 h food intake of rats. BIM187 can be used in studies related to feeding behavior and satiety regulation in rats.

Animal Model:Sprague-Dawley (male, starting weight 150-170 g, experimental weight 190-210 g, maintained on 6-hour daily food access, fasted 18 hours prior to experiments)[1]
-
Dosage:0.5 μg/kg; 1 μg/kg; 2 μg/kg; 4 μg/kg; 8 μg/kg; 16 μg/kg; 32 μg/kg
-
Administration:i.p.; single dose
-
Result:Exerted no meaningful 30-min feeding suppression at 0.5, 1, 2 μg/kg.
Markedly cut 30-min food intake at 4, 8, 16, 32 μg/kg with non-dose-dependent activity.
Suppressed 30-min feeding significantly at 4 μg/kg and left total 6-h intake unchanged versus control.
Lowered 30-min food intake at 32 μg/kg, reduced 60-min intake, with intact total 6-h feeding volume.
Retained full 30-min feeding suppression after co-administration with CCK antagonists BIM18216 (1 mg/kg) and Devazepide (HY-106301) (100 μg/kg).
Maintained unaltered 30-min anorectic action against bombesin antagonist BIM189 (20 μg/kg) at 4 μg/kg.
