A549 is a human cancer cell line derived from Lung and associated with Lung adenocarcinoma. Its continuous tumor-cell growth supports reproducible mechanistic and pharmacological experiments. A549 is used as an in vitro model of Lung adenocarcinoma to investigate p53 signaling, EGFR signaling, apoptosis, cell proliferation, cell-cycle control, and cytotoxicity.
