Biological Activity
Biotin-PEG5-NHS ester is a highly efficient bioconjugation reagent, mainly used for the specific introduction of biotin tags onto molecules containing primary amine groups (-NH2) (such as proteins, antibodies, polypeptides) or material surfaces. The NHS ester group in its molecular structure rapidly reacts with amine groups under mild conditions to form stable amide bonds, while the intermediate PEG5 chain (pentaethylene glycol) acts as a flexible spacer arm to increase the spatial freedom of the molecule, and can also significantly improve water solubility and reduce non-specific adsorption.
