CD185

CD185 corresponds to CXCR5, the chemokine receptor that orchestrates lymphocyte positioning within lymphoid follicles. It signals through CXCL13 (BCA-1), a chemokine constitutively produced by follicular dendritic cells, and couples to Gi proteins to drive integrin-mediated adhesion and directed migration. CXCR5 is the defining marker of T follicular helper cells, whose follicular entry requires receptor expression, and it is displayed on mature B cells as well. In mice, Cxcr5 disruption abolishes normal germinal-center architecture and impairs T-cell-dependent antibody responses, linking the receptor to follicular immune organization.
