Biological Activity: 3-Bromobenzoic acid is an important intermediate that can be used in the synthesis of other active compounds. 3-Bromobenzoic acid can react with a variety of electrophiles to generate a variety of 2-substituted-3-bromobenzoic acid derivatives. 3-Bromobenzoic acid is also an effective corrosion inhibitor for aluminum in alkalized Persian Gulf seawater and NaOH solution[1][2].
