Biological Activity: (R)-Moxestrol ((R)-R 2858; RU 16117) is an orally active weak partial agonist-antagonist of estrogen receptor (ER). (R)-Moxestrol binds to estrogen receptor to form a rapidly dissociating complex, reduces the levels of estrogen and prolactin receptor, exerts weak estrogenic effects at low doses, and displays anti-estrogenic effects at high doses or when competing with Estradiol (E2) (HY-B0141). (R)-Moxestrol can be used in research related to breast cancer and postmenopausal estrogen deficiency (menopausal symptoms, severe osteoporosis)[3].
