Description

CG-0988 is a selective SARS-CoV-2 3C-like protease (3CLpro) inhibitor with an IC50 of 8.5 nM. CG-0988 functionally inhibits SARS-CoV-2 3CLpro, blocks SARS-CoV-2 replication, and exerts antiviral activity against SARS-CoV-2 variants. CG-0988 can be used in research related to coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19)[1].

In Vitro

CG-0988 (4.6-10000 nM; 24 h) potently inhibits SARS-CoV-2 replication in replicon-transfected Huh7 cells, with an EC50 of 6.6 nM[1].
CG-0988 (1 μM; 3 days) potently inhibits infection of Vero E6 cells by SARS-CoV-2 USA_WA1/2020, Delta B.1.617.2 and Omicron EG.5.1 variants, with EC50 values of < 1, 2 and 4 nM, respectively[1].

In Vivo

CG-0988 (10 mg/kg; p.o.; single dose) exhibits favorable oral pharmacokinetic properties in male Sprague-Dawley rats, with 59.2% oral bioavailability and longer plasma half-life than nirmatrelvir[1].
CG-0988 (1-3 mg/kg; i.v., p.o.; single dose) exhibits excellent oral pharmacokinetic properties in beagle dogs, with 94.0% oral bioavailability and slow plasma clearance[1].
