Description

CKS-17 is a synthetic retroviral envelope peptide. CKS-17 has the highly conserved amino acid sequences occurring within the transmembrane envelope protein of many animal and human retroviruses. CKS-17 acts as an immunomodulatory epitope and exhibits suppressive properties for numerous immune functions[1][2][3].

In Vitro

CKS-17 (THP-1 cells) induces increased intracellular cAMP via activation of adenylate cyclase[1].
CKS-17 (15 μM; EL4 cells) inhibits interleukin-2 production by tumor cell products[3].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

In Vivo

CKS-17 (10 μM; i.d.; B6AF1 mice and C57BL/6J mice) inhibits delayed-type hypersensitivity (DTH) reactions to sheep erythrocytes in the feet of mice[2].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Animal Model: B6AF1 mice and C57BL/6J mice with DTH models[2]
Dosage: 10 μM
Administration: Intradermal injection, into the right hind footpad
Result: Had a transient depressive effect on DTH reaction.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
