Description

ddGTP (2′,3′-Dideoxyguanosine 5′-triphosphate) tetrasodium is one of 2',3'-dideoxyribonucleoside 5'-triphosphates (ddNTPs) that acts as chain-elongating inhibitor of DNA polymerase for DNA sequencing. ddGTP tetrasodium acts as an inhibitor or a substrate for DNA polymerase α[1][2][3].

In Vitro

ddGTP tetrasodium inhibits the formation of both negative and positive DNA strands[1].
ddGTP tetrasodium inhibits DNA polymerase α activity in the presence of Mn2+ at low concentrations (<1 μM)[2].
ddGTP tetrasodium competitively inhibits the incorporation of [3H]dGTP into the DNA[2].

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
