In Vitro

DSPE-PEG2000-Cy5.5 (6.5 mM lipid concentration in FBS; 96 h at 37°C) containing liposomes release less than 25% of their Cy5.5 content over 96 hours of incubation at 37°C in fetal bovine serum[1].

In Vivo

The DSPE-PEG2000-Cy5.5-containing liposomes (1.8 g lipid/kg body weight; tail vein; single injection) exhibit a prolonged vascular half-life of 36.2 hours in non-tumor-bearing mice, with significantly higher accumulation in the liver and kidneys at select time points compared to CT-only liposomes[1].

Dosage: 1.8 g lipid/kg body weight (containing DSPE-PEG2000-Cy5.5 at a molar ratio of 0.02 relative to total lipids)
Administration: tail vein; single injection
Result: Exhibited a vascular half-life of 36.2 hours.
Showed statistically significant higher accumulation in the liver at 5 minutes and 24 hours postinjection compared to CT-only liposomes.
Showed statistically significant higher accumulation in the kidneys at 48, 72, and 96 hours postinjection compared to CT-only liposomes.
Had accumulation in the spleen equivalent to CT-only liposomes.
