Animal Model:Macaque monkeys (5-7 kg)[1]
-
Dosage:1.2 mL of 282 mg I/mL
-
Administration:intrathecal; single injection
-
Result:Induced a consistent myelographic arachnoiditis score of 36 (maximum possible score) across all 4 animals tested.
Produced an average histologic arachnoiditis score of 18, with individual scores ranging from 12 to 20.
Resulted in scores significantly higher than scores for iopamidol, metrizamide, and CSF controls (P < 0.05, Wilcoxon test).
