Gibellulin A is a natural antimicrobial agent. Gibellulin A inhibits the growth of aquatic bacteria, human pathogenic bacteria and phytopathogenic fungi.Gibellulin A can be used for the research of bacterial and fungal infections[1].

In Vitro

Gibellulin A (Compound 4) potently inhibits Edwardsiella ictarda with an MIC of 2 μg/mL; it inhibits Aeromonas hydrophilia, Edwardsiella tarda, Vibrio harveyi and Colletotrichum gloeosporioides Penz with an MIC of 4 μg/mL; it inhibits Escherichia coli and Vibrio alginolyticus with an MIC of 8 μg/mL; and it inhibits Vibrio parahaemolyticus with an MIC of 16 μg/mL[1].
