Description

Guanoxani sulfate (NSC 108162) is an antihypertensive drug and an α2-adrenergic receptor antagonist. Guanoxani sulfate can be used in antihypertensive research[1].

IC50 & Target

α adrenergic receptor

In Vitro

The α2-adrenergic receptor is a Gi-coupled GPCR with three subtypes: A, B, and C. It mainly inhibits the release of sympathetic and various neurotransmitters through presynaptic negative feedback. After activation, it produces effects such as central sedation and hypotension, and peripheral bidirectional vascular tone regulation. It is the core target of sedative, hypotensive, muscle relaxant, and glaucoma drugs.

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
