ICAAc is a solvatochromic fluorophore with reduced basicity. ICAAc demonstrates significant solvatochromic behavior across solvents of varying polarity, with a large dipole moment difference and low quantum yield in water, making it a tunable solvatochromic fluorophore. ICAAc enables pH sensing via UV-vis/fluorescence detection and in microenvironments including sodium lauryl sulfate micelle Stern layers. ICAAc acts as a supravital cell stain for epifluorescence imaging of live cancer cells.

Description

ICAAc is a solvatochromic fluorophore with reduced basicity. ICAAc demonstrates significant solvatochromic behavior across solvents of varying polarity, with a large dipole moment difference and low quantum yield in water, making it a tunable solvatochromic fluorophore. ICAAc enables pH sensing via UV-vis/fluorescence detection and in microenvironments including sodium lauryl sulfate micelle Stern layers. ICAAc acts as a supravital cell stain for epifluorescence imaging of live cancer cells[1].

In Vitro

ICAAc serves as a stable and accurate physiological pH probe in aqueous buffer solutions, with a pKa value of 7.05, enabling precise pH detection within the physiological range of pH 6-8[1].
ICAAC (0.3 μg/mL; incubation for imaging) serves as a suitable in vitro live-cell stain for routine epifluorescence imaging of live HeLa cells, with a recommended working concentration of 0.3 μg/mL[1].
As the polarity of the solvent increases, the emission wavelength of ICAAc increases accordingly. In water, dioxane and n-hexane, its excitation/emission maxima are 466/553 nm, 431/515 nm and 418/503 nm, respectively. The absorption maximum of ICAAc decreases with increasing pH[1].

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
