Fluoprazolam (Compound IV) is an unstable oily intermediate. Fluoprazolam is generated via cyclization of N-(7-chloro-5-phenyl-3H-1,4-benzodiazepin-2-yl) glycine (IIIa) and rapidly undergoes condensation to form stable derivatives.
