IPPD-Q is a p-phenylenediamine quinone and also Environmental pollutant. IPPD-Q can be present in tires, fine particulate matter and urban water bodies. IPPD-Q increases the activities of antioxidant enzymes (SOD, CAT), alters photosynthesis and energy metabolism pathways, and changes gene expression and metabolic profiles. IPPD-Q exhibits phytotoxic effects. IPPD-Q shows acute toxicity to zebrafish embryos and reduces their survival rate.

IPPD-Q (0.1-1000 μg/L; 21 days) exposure induces concentration-dependent effects on wheat seedlings, reducing shoot length at high concentrations (100, 1000 μg/L), increasing fresh weight at low concentrations (0.1, 1, 10 μg/L), altering osmoprotectant levels, and modulating the uptake of multiple nutrient elements[2].
IPPD-Q (0.1-1000 μg/L; 21 days) exposure enhances photosynthetic pigment levels and stomatal conductance in wheat seedlings, while inducing oxidative stress via increased antioxidant enzyme (SOD, POD, CAT) activities and MDA content, with concentration-dependent effects on photosynthetic gas exchange parameters[2].

Caused significantly sparser locomotor trajectories in surviving embryos exposed to chlorination transformation products compared to chloramination transformation products or parent IPPD-Q.
Had a predicted 96 h LC50 of 26.174 mg/L, while TP-290-1 (mono-Cl substitution at C2) had a predicted 96 h LC50 of 19.107 mg/L.
