CD300e

CD300e is a myeloid-restricted member of the human CD300 receptor family with a single extracellular Ig-like domain and a short cytoplasmic tail. Its expression is concentrated on monocytes, macrophages and dendritic cells, a distribution narrower than that of CD300C. Within the paired-receptor cluster on chromosome 17, CD300E is grouped with the adapter-associated activating members on the basis of sequence features, counterbalancing the ITIM-bearing paralogs and contributing to the tuning of myeloid activation thresholds during inflammation. Its physiological ligands have not been definitively identified, and functional characterization remains an active area of research.
