RBWH15
RBWH15 is a synthetic broad-spectrum antimicrobial peptide. RBWH15 increases the permeability of bacterial outer and inner membranes, disrupts membrane integrity and induces bacterial death. RBWH15 exhibits biofilm eradication activity and can eliminate established bacterial biofilms. RBWH15 shows broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity against Gram-negative and Gram-positive ESKAPE pathogens, including multidrug-resistant strains. RBWH15 can be used in the research of multidrug-resistant bacterial infections.

In Vitro
RBWH15 (0.375-18 μM, >200 μM; 18-24 h) potently inhibits the growth of multiple Gram-positive and Gram-negative ESKAPE pathogens, including methicillin-resistant S. aureus ATCC43300, with MIC values ranging from 1.5 μM to 18 μM, and shows no activity against E. faecalis ATCC19433 at tested concentrations[1].
RBWH15 (2.3-36 μM, 9-144 μM) permeabilizes the outer membranes of S. aureus ATCC25923 and P. aeruginosa PAO1 in a concentration-dependent manner[1].
RBWH15 (2.3-36 μM, 9-144 μM) disrupts the inner membranes of S. aureus ATCC25923 and P. aeruginosa PAO1 in a concentration-dependent manner, leading to increased PI uptake by membrane-compromised bacteria[1].
RBWH15 (2.3-36 μM, 9-144 μM; 90 min, 24 h) eradicates preformed biofilms of S. aureus ATCC25923 and P. aeruginosa PAO1 in a concentration-dependent manner[1].
RBWH15 (2.5-10 μM; 24-48 h) promotes migration of L929 mouse fibroblasts, accelerating in vitro wound closure over 48 h of incubation[1].
RBWH15 (30 min-24 h) exhibits moderate stability in human plasma, with ~35-44% of the peptide remaining intact after 24 h of incubation at 37 °C[1].
RBWH15 (30-60 μM; 1-3 h) is non-hemolytic against murine and human RBCs at concentrations up to 60 μM[1].
