N-Acetylprocainamide hydrochloride exerts inhibitory effects on the maximum following frequency (MFF) of isolated rabbit atria. N-Acetylprocainamide hydrochloride can be used for the study of arrhythmias.

Animal Model:Experimental atrial flutter was induced in 15 anesthetized open-chest mongrel dogs (15-30 kg) by intercaval crush and rapid atrial pacing[3]

Result:Achieved atrial flutter conversion and atrial flutter reinduction prevention in anesthetized open-chest mongrel dogs.
Achieved significant prolongation of atrial effective refractory period, atrial functional refractory period, atrial flutter cycle length, and corrected QT interval.
Reduced the increment of atrial flutter cycle length in dogs.
