1. Anti-infection Membrane Transporter/Ion Channel
  2. Bacterial ATP Synthase
  3. ND-011458

ND-011458 is an Antibacterial agent, a QcrB inhibitor, and also an inhibitor of cytochrome bcc:aa3 oxidase function. ND-011458 binds to the QcrB subunit of cytochrome bcc:aa3 oxidase. ND-011458 inhibits ATP formation. When used in combination with Clofazimine (HY-B1046), ND-011458 exhibits bactericidal activity against Mycobacterium abscessus. ND-011458 can be used in studies related to Mycobacterium abscessus pulmonary infections.

Description

ND-011458 is an Antibacterial agent, a QcrB inhibitor, and also an inhibitor of cytochrome bcc:aa3 oxidase function. ND-011458 binds to the QcrB subunit of cytochrome bcc:aa3 oxidase. ND-011458 inhibits ATP formation. When used in combination with Clofazimine (HY-B1046), ND-011458 exhibits bactericidal activity against Mycobacterium abscessus. ND-011458 can be used in studies related to Mycobacterium abscessus pulmonary infections[1].

In Vitro

ND-011458 potently inhibits the growth of multiple subspecies of the *Mycobacterium abscessus* complex and depletes their intracellular ATP[1].
ND-011458 directly inhibits the respiration of purified recombinant *Mycobacterium abscessus* cyt-bcc:aa3 oxidase, confirming that it targets this enzyme complex[1].
ND-011458 (0.1-20 μM; 3 days, checkerboard assay) exerts an additive effect with Clofazimine to inhibit the growth of *Mycobacterium abscessus* (FIC index = 0.82); their combination (10 μM ND-011458 + 8 μM CFZ) exhibits bactericidal activity, reducing the bacterial load by approximately 1 log within 4 days[1].

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
