(+)-Norpatchoulenol is a constituent of Pogostemon patchouli essential oil from Java, Sumatra, Singapore, China, and Brazil, present at levels of 0.5% or 0.6%, but is absent from oil isolated from plants grown organically under Tarai conditions in India[1].
