TES
Based on 1 Customer Validation
TES is an excellent hydrogen ion buffer. TES has characteristics such as an appropriate dissociation constant, a low metal-binding constant, and high water solubility. TES can be used in the research of mammalian cell culture, viruses, and so on.
For research use only. We do not sell to patients.

Biological Activity
TES (0.1 M) has pKa values of 7.92, 7.50, and 7.14 at 0°, 20° and 37°, respectively, and the concentration of its saturated aqueous solution at 0° is 2.6 M[1].
TES (6-50 mM; 11-14 days) in a closed culture environment is similar to or even more effective than the NaHCO3-CO2-buffered medium in terms of colony-forming efficiency, colony size, and cell morphology of several mammalian cell lines (HeLa S3, KB, BHK 21-Cl3, 3Y1-B Cl-1)[2].
TES (25-50 mM; 14-19 days) has a similar efficiency to NaHCO3-CO2-buffered medium and the required time is shorter in the SV40 virus plaque assay with monkey kidney CV-1 cells[2].
MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

For the following dissolution methods, please prepare the working solution directly:
It is recommended to prepare fresh solutions and use them promptly within a short period of time.
The percentages shown for the solvents indicate their volumetric ratio in the final prepared solution. If precipitation or phase separation occurs during preparation, heat and/or sonication can be used to aid dissolution.
