In Vitro

Phenanthridine (40 μM) is used as substrate to show that in vitro chemical sulfuration increases the specific activity of hAOX1-WT, co-hAOX1, and hAOX1-S1271L by ~10-fold, with hAOX1-WT reaching 1516.7 mU/mg, co-hAOX1 reaching 1459.1 mU/mg, and hAOX1-S1271L reaching 1132.1 mU/mg after sulfuration[1].
Phenanthridine is used as substrate to show that codon-optimized hAOX1-WT has a pH optimum of ~8.0, while hAOX1-S1271L has a slightly shifted pH optimum of ~8.3[1].

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
