Description

Propiolamide is a monooxygenase (MMO) system activator and glutathione peroxidase 4 (GPX4) inhibitor. Propiolamide induces ROS production through interaction with the MMO system. In Vitro

Propiolamide (14 mM; 0-30 min) induces microsomal monooxygenase-mediated reactive oxygen species production in CYP3A4/CPR/Cyt c and CYP3A4/NADPH systems[1].
Propiolamide (38 μM) inhibits the activity of glutathione peroxidase 4 derived from bovine red blood cells by 46%[1].
Propiolamide (30-50 μM; 12 h) induces apoptosis in HeLa cells in a concentration-dependent manner in vitro. After 12 hours of treatment, the proportion of total apoptotic cells reaches 7.13% at 30 μM and 10.33% at 50 μM[1].
Propiolamide (50 μM; 12 h) promotes lipid peroxidation in HeLa cells, which is a key marker of ferroptosis[1].
