CD267/TACI

CD267/TACI, formally TNFRSF13B, is a TNF receptor family member distinguished by two extracellular cysteine-rich domains that bind the B cell factors BAFF and APRIL. Unlike most TNF receptors, TACI signals through CAML and the NF-kB and AP-1 pathways and additionally engages caspase-dependent routes that regulate B cell homeostasis. It is expressed on mature B cells and plasma cells, where it restrains B cell expansion while supporting plasma cell differentiation and class-switched antibody responses. Mutations in TNFRSF13B are the most common genetic finding in common variable immunodeficiency, and TACI also contributes to autoimmune B cell hyperactivity. Recombinant CD267/TACI serves B cell biology and antibody-deficiency research.
