Abstract

Objective: To study the chemical constituents of flower buds of Lonicera macranthoides.

Methods: The 90% EtOH extract of Lonicera macranthoides. was successively partitioned with petroleum ether and ethyl acetete.

Results: Repeated column chromatography of the ethyl acetete fraction afforded the following compounds (1-9): ginnol (1), triacontanol (2), ursolic acid (3), beta-sitosterol (4), triacontane (5), palmitic acid (6), beta-daucosterol (7), 3-decyl-3-octyldocosan-1-ol (8), 3-dodecyl-3-nonyldocosan-1-ol (9). All compounds except 4 are isolated from this plant for the first time while compounds 2, 3, 5, 8 and 9 are their first time been isolated from genus Lonicera.
