Pediocin PA-1 TFA is a class IIa bacteriocin that specifically binds to membrane proteins of susceptible Gram-positive bacteria (such as Listeria monocytogenes) to form voltage-independent hydrophilic pores, leading to dissipation of proton motive force, ATP depletion and cell death.
