Colesevelam hydrochloride is an orally active bile acid sequestrant, lipid-lowering agent, and glycemic control agent. Colesevelam hydrochloride modulates FXR, TGR5, and Cyp7a1 activity and triggers cAMP signaling and GLP-1 release.
