(-)-Sesamin 2,2'-diol
(-)-Sesamin 2,2'-diol is a nitric oxide (NO) production inhibitor with an IC50 of 310 μM for inhibiting LPS-induced NO production. (-)-Sesamin 2,2'-diol can be isolated from the aerial parts of Isodon japonicus. (-)-Sesamin 2,2'-diol abrogates NO production in LPS-stimulated macrophages without inducing cytotoxicity.
