Description

Valylhistidine is a dipeptide composed of valine and histidine (Val-His). Valylhistidine can form a dipeptide complex with Cu (II) that mimics superoxide dismutase but lacks activity[1].

In Vitro

Valylhistidine does not catalyze the dismutation of superoxide ion (O2).Valylhistidine forms a copper(II) complex (Val-His-Cu2+) that acts as a tridentate ligand with three nitrogen atoms bound to the copper ion[1].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
