Z-4105 is an orally active nootropic agent. Z-4105 reverses the amnesic effects of electroconvulsive shock (ECS) and methylazoxymethanol acetate (MAM), and improves learning and memory functions. Z-4105 enhances the activity of the brain cholinergic system without affecting other neurotransmitter systems. Z-4105 significantly alleviates neuropathic pain in rats. Z-4105 can be used in the research of neuropathic pain and brain dysfunction.

Description

Z-4105 is an orally active nootropic agent. Z-4105 reverses the amnesic effects of electroconvulsive shock (ECS) and methylazoxymethanol acetate (MAM), and improves learning and memory functions. Z-4105 enhances the activity of the brain cholinergic system without affecting other neurotransmitter systems. Z-4105 significantly alleviates neuropathic pain in rats. Z-4105 can be used in the research of neuropathic pain and brain dysfunction[1][2].

In Vivo

Z-4105 (3-300 mg/kg; p.o.; single administration) produces a dose-dependent alleviating effect on mechanical hyperalgesia in a rat model of neuropathic pain[1].

MedChemExpress (MCE) has not independently confirmed the accuracy of these methods. They are for reference only.

Animal Model: Wistar (male, chronic constrictive injury of the sciatic nerve model); Wistar (male, spinal nerve ligation model)[1]
Dosage: 3 mg/kg; 30 mg/kg; 300 mg/kg
Administration: p.o.; single dose
Result: Reduced mechanical allodynia in a dose-dependent manner.
Produced statistically significant antiallodinic effect starting at 3 mg/kg, which persisted up to 6 hours post-treatment.

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
