18:1 PE MCC
18:1 PE MCC is a reactive phospholipid containing a maleimide group. 18:1 PE MCC forms covalent bonds with thiol-modified chondroitin sulfate (CS) via thiol-maleimide reaction, and anchors CS to the surface of lipid membranes. 18:1 PE MCC is applicable to glycocalyx model construction and lipid membrane biophysics research.

Biological Activity
Description
In Vitro
18:1 PE MCC (0.5 mol%; room temperature; 2 h) covalently conjugates thiol-modified chondroitin sulfate to POPC large unilamellar vesicles (LUVs) and increases the vesicle diameter by approximately 15 nm[1].
18:1 PE MCC (0.5 mol%; 1 h) mediates the conjugation of chondroitin sulfate to DOPC-supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) and increases the membrane surface roughness by more than 2-fold[1].
