3-Arm PEG40000-Mal
3-Arm PEG40000-Mal is a three-armed PEG derivative. The core structure of 3-Arm PEG40000-Mal consists of three PEG chains, each terminal of which is modified with a maleimide (Mal) group. The maleimide group in 3-Arm PEG40000-Mal can undergo a specific Michael addition reaction with thiol-containing (-SH) biomolecules (such as peptides, antibodies, and aptamers), enabling targeted modification of liposomes/nanoparticles.

Biological Activity
The structure of PEG-Alkyne comprises two key components that work synergistically:
Maleimide: Located at the end of the PEG chain, it acts as a reaction interface, enabling specific Michael addition reactions with thiol-containing (-SH) biomolecules (such as peptides, antibodies, and aptamers) to achieve targeting or tracing functions.
PEG chain: Serving as a hydrophilic spacer arm, it forms a hydration layer on the particle surface, reducing non-specific adsorption and immune system clearance, thus prolonging the carrier's circulation time in vivo.
