Biological Activity
4-Hydroxytryptophol is produced in minor amounts (43.4 nM) alongside a 29% decrease in psilocin concentration when 1,000 nM psilocin is incubated with human liver microsomes for 240 minutes[1].
4-Hydroxytryptophol is produced in minor amounts (16.9 nM) without a visible decrease in psilocin concentration when 1,000 nM psilocin is incubated with recombinant MAO-A enzymes for 300 minutes[1].
4-Hydroxytryptophol shows no relevant binding affinity to human 5-HT1A, 5-HT2A, and 5-HT2C receptors (Ki > 10,000 nM) in HEK 293 cell line membrane preparations[1].
4-Hydroxytryptophol shows no relevant activation potency at human 5-HT1A, 5-HT2A, and 5-HT2B receptors (EC50 > 10,000 nM) in NIH/3T3 cells[1].
