501A054 is an autophagy activator. 501A054 induces autophagy-dependent cell death via autophagy activation. 501A054 can be used in studies on autophagy regulation such as cervical cancer[1].

In Vitro

501A054 (Compound 3o) (4 h) potently activates autophagy in HeLa cells stably expressing eGFP-LC3, with an EC50 of 2.3 μM[1].
501A054 (16-32 μM; 4-24 h) induces autophagy-dependent perinuclear vacuole formation in eGFP-LC3 HeLa cells after treatment with 16 μM for 4 h[1].

Incubation Time: 4 h (eGFP-LC3 HeLa cells); 24 h (ATG9A KO HeLa cells)
Result: Induced perinuclear vacuole formation in eGFP-LC3 HeLa cells at 16 μM after 4 h.
Showed no vacuole formation in ATG9A KO HeLa cells at 32 μM after 24 h.
