7-Methylxanthine
Based on 1 Customer Validation
7-Methylxanthine is an orally active methyl derivative of xanthine and a non-selective adenosine receptor antagonist. 7-Methylxanthine is also one of the purine components of human urinary calculi. 7-Methylxanthine has anti-myopia activity.

-
Animal Model:Macaca mulatta aged 2-3 weeks old were reared with -3D or +3D spectacle over their treated eyes and zero-powered lenses over their fellow eyes[2]
-
Dosage:100 mg/kg
-
Administration:Oral administration, twice daily, from 24±2 days of age until 147±4 days of age
-
Result:Eliminated the consistent myopic anisometropia normally produced by -3D of imposed monocular defocus.
Caused compensating hyperopic anisometropias.
Changed the course of emmetropization in both the treated and fellow eyes of the lens-reared monkeys, resulting in more hyperopic refractive errors.
Led to a reduction in vitreous chamber elongation and an increase in choroidal thickness.

For the following dissolution methods, please prepare the working solution directly:
It is recommended to prepare fresh solutions and use them promptly within a short period of time.
The percentages shown for the solvents indicate their volumetric ratio in the final prepared solution. If precipitation or phase separation occurs during preparation, heat and/or sonication can be used to aid dissolution.
