Description

Antimicrobial agent-50 (Compound C2) is an anti-oomycete and Fungicidal agent. Antimicrobial agent-50 inhibits the activity of Mitochondrial respiratory chain complex III with an IC50 of 6.05 mg/L. Antimicrobial agent-50 inhibits ATP synthesis. Antimicrobial agent-50 exhibits protective activity against Phytophthora capsici in vivo. Antimicrobial agent-50 potently inhibits mycelial growth of Gaeumannomyces graminis, Rhizoctonia solani and Phytophthora capsici, with EC50 values of 2.97 mg/L, 1.86 mg/L and 0.74 mg/L, respectively[1].

In Vitro

Antimicrobial agent-50 (0.39-50.00 mg/L) potently inhibits mycelial growth of Gaeumannomyces graminis, Rhizoctonia solani and Phytophthora capsici, with EC50 values of 2.97 mg/L, 1.86 mg/L and 0.74 mg/L, respectively. At a concentration of 50.00 mg/L, this compound exhibits broad-spectrum in vitro fungicidal activity against another 6 tested phytopathogenic fungi/oomycetes[1].
Antimicrobial agent-50 causes severe ultrastructural damage to Phytophthora capsici hyphae, including cell wall thickening, mitochondrial degradation, and vacuole enlargement[1].
Antimicrobial agent-50 (12.50-50.00 mg/L) significantly inhibits the respiratory metabolism of Phytophthora capsici hyphae in a concentration-dependent manner, with an inhibition rate of 75.3% at 50.00 mg/L after 4 h of treatment[1].
Antimicrobial agent-50 (1-100 mg/L) inhibits the activity of mitochondrial respiratory chain complex III in Phytophthora capsici, with an IC50 of 6.05 mg/L, thereby causing a concentration-dependent decrease in intracellular ATP levels[1].

In Vivo

Antimicrobial agent-50 (500-50000 mg/L; administered locally to the thorax; single dose) shows low toxicity to adult worker bees, with an LD50 greater than 200 μg/bee[1].

Help & FAQs
  • Do most proteins show cross-species activity?

Species cross-reactivity must be investigated individually for each product. Many human cytokines will produce a nice response in mouse cell lines, and many mouse proteins will show activity on human cells. Other proteins may have a lower specific activity when used in the opposite species.
