Crufomate

Crufomate is an organophosphate insecticide. Crufomate is used to control warble fly maggot infections and botfly infestations in dairy cows, and accumulates in milk fat. Crufomate reduces mating responses, conception rates, pup survival rates, and post-weaning body weights of offspring in mice. Crufomate (50-100 mg/kg; dermal; 2 doses 14 days apart or 4 total doses 14 days apart) reduces female mouse mating response to 30-50% and conception rate to 10% with two dermal pre-mating treatments, while four dermal treatments with 100 mg/kg crufomate significantly reduce both female and male progeny weaning weight without affecting mature weight^[1].
Crufomate (19.1-21.2 mg/kg; topical; single application) results in mean milk residues that fall below the 0.05 mg/kg Codex limit within 24 hours post-treatment, with residue accumulation in fat-rich milk products leading to higher concentrations relative to whole milk in lactating dairy cows^[2].
Crufomate (50.8 mg/kg; topical; single dose) demonstrates no anthelmintic effect on abomasal helminths and erratic, questionable efficacy on intestinal helminths in calves with mixed gastrointestinal parasite infections^[3].
